Why He's About to Pop: Since embarking on his career in music, Jay Sean has dropped a handful of singles and two albums, and already toured extensively, performing for audiences at sold out shows worldwide. Sean's international success soon caught the attention of US record executive Ronald "Slim" Williams. Now, Sean is signed to a multi-album recording contract with Universal's Cash Money Records -- home to Lil Wayne, who collaborated with Sean on his No. 1 pop/R&B hit, 'Down' -- and is set to release his new album, 'All or Nothing.'
"Wayne is a huge inspiration, man," Sean tells PopEater. "I mean, just watching him at work and watching him on the video set and everything was super inspiring, 'cause that guy has got so much energy and is such a pro. You can just tell he's been in it for years, and he just doesn't stop grinding."
Sean has been keeping just as busy as Wayne -- 'All Or Nothing' is out on Nov. 24, and the singer is on tour in the US through December. "I'm all heart," Sean says. "I take risks and I go with my gut. Music is my passion, and I just had to give it a go. Otherwise, I don't think I'd ever be able to live with myself. Luckily, it's been working out great for me so far."
It's no secret that everyone loves the music in 'Glee' -- and 'Glee, The Music, Volume 1' has been quite a popular fall release. And how could it not be? It runs the gamut from the Supremes' 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' and Young MC's eternal club hit 'Bust a Move' to REO Speedwagon's 'Can't Fight This Feeling.' But what's made the soundtrack even more successful -- besides the way that the music incorporates itself into the plot lines -- is that it poaches from the last forty years of pop music, giving a little bit for everyone.
