Train Show Off 'Soul Sister,' Ukulele in Live PopEater Performance

Posted Nov 2nd 2009 2:00PM By: Marc Schneider

Like breaking up, writing a hit song is hard to do. Most artists go a lifetime without one, but not Train, who've delivered a steady stream of chart hits since 'Meet Virginia' met your ears ten years ago. Perhaps you've heard 'Calling All Angels' or a lil' ditty titled 'Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)'? Yes, of course you have. After a 3-year hiatus to concentrate on solo projects, the West Coast rockers are back with their fifth album ('Save Me San Francisco,' out now) and a gem of a single, the Jason Mraz-ish track 'Hey, Soul Sister.'

Armed with a voice and a ukulele, singer Pat Monahan and guitarist Jimmy Stafford (drummer Scott Underwood couldn't make it) dropped by PopEater HQ to perform the infectious track. Watch It Here:

For those who don't pay attention to charts much, that's an absurdly long time, cementing Mraz's place in music history. The singer is celebrating his recent success with 'Beautiful Mess - Live on Earth,' featuring Mraz's full-length concert DVD (in stores Nov. 10) shot in Chicago during his Gratitude Café Tour, and PopEater is proud to premiere the video of Jason belting out his massive hit 'I'm Yours.'

The oft-fedora-sporting singer-songwriter has broken a monumental record as his reggae-ish jam 'I'm Yours' has spent a staggering 71 weeks (that's almost 1.5 years, people) on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

'What Is Your Sense of Home?' is perhaps one of Mraz's most personal segments of the series thus far. As the tour footage comes to an end, the singer and his crew use one of their last webisodes to define what "home" is to them. Find out what they do to avoid homesickness during the long days on the road.
