(Jan. 13) - 'Grey's Anatomy' will suffer another loss.

Melissa George, who plays intern Sadie on the show is leaving the series, Michael Ausiello reports.

"It was my choice," she tells Ausiello.

"I love the show so much. I've made some beautiful friends. I love T.R. Knight. I love Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers … I adore Ellen Pompeo. I think she's a strong, incredible woman. And Katherine Heigl is the most beautiful creature on Earth," she adds.

George says she plans to "do something else," and that's why she chose to exit 'Grey's.'

But another source says that's not necessarily the case -- as the decision for George to leave was more mutual.

"Melissa's arc came to a natural end. Everyone at the show adores her. We're genuinely sad to see her go," the source reveals.

According to insiders, the actress was originally supposed to appear on 8-11 episodes, with the possibility of becoming a series regular, but that the of the role also lead to George's departure.

"The character was cursed from day one. She was very difficult to root for," another ABC source claims.

I LOVE Grey's. I hate that they mad Callie gay just b/c of what Isaiah Washington may or may not have said. Her character seems out of place now. The actress tries but who goes from sleeping w/McSteamy to wanting Erica? Hopefully the writers will see that she needs to be w/McSteamy or another hot man.

very tired of GA, lesbian sex needs to go...why do tv producers think we want to see that stuff is beyond me. Am I homophobic...no, but I believe in marriage between man and woman. Same sex couples do your thing, but do we really need it shoved upon us when watching a show with teens? Not.

If I remember correctly, Melissa George is an old friend of someone on the show and is hitting on another girl. I agree with everyone else, the whole lesbian thing sucks on the show. Also Heigl hanging onto her dead boyfriend/husband guy when she's got a hunk in front of her...very creepy. The show tries to be mainstream but is boring and weird.

I like Melissa George. But what constitutes a "star?" The headline read, Star to leave GA. At least the article says "actor" to leave GA. Whatever. GA is a huge snore.
