[[[["Why not just bring back the docotr everyone hated - you know - the one the helicopter first chopped the arm off of, then later another chopper fell on him?!"]]]] Now, THAT guy was funny. so obnoxious you laughed when the helicopter landed on him. And the intern he had just caught smoking marijuana, sitting there waiting for him to come back and can him and then he finally realized he got away with it. He was also obnoxious but also grew on you.[][] I was watching repeats of ER on TNT September 11, 2001 when they cut to buildings falling down. i thought, wow, now that's a weird twist of story, wonder if it is tied to the helicopter episode. wish it HAD been just a story

quinnen55, yes, it would be good if everyone could die so peacefully. Last year, I lost my dad after he had a major stroke. He had always told us he didn't want to "survive" a stroke and have to live mentally or physically impaired, so the entire family knew and agreed that we had to let him go. After a week in the hospital, we flew him home, ready for hospice and preparing for his death. He was the most relaxed at home, and quietly slipped away the very next morning, very early. When we celebrated his life with family and friends a month later, we chartered a boat to take us out so we could scatter his ashes in the Gulf, as he had wished. Just as the last ashes were released, the sun broke through the rain clouds, and a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky. We knew he was "home". It's all caught on digital recorder, so anytime I find myself not believing it actually happened, all I have to do is play it back. Think I'll find a way to set that moment to this version of ...

This great rendition of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" is sung by the great, late, Hawaiian, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole or "IZ". If you just google the name IZ, he shows up. It took me until about a year ago to find out the artist. My daughter actually found him for me. Hallmark's new music cards also uses it in several cards. This is such a powerful episode of "ER", that it still brings me to tears even today and he's just acting! Enjoy all the you tube videos on IZ. It's worth the time.

I stopped watching the show several seasons ago when they introduced so many regular characters and new plot lines to keep track of - now I have to remember those of the actors who chose to leave the show? Why not just bring back the docotr everyone hated - you know - the one the helicopter first chopped the arm off of, then later another chopper fell on him?! Thanks a lot, NBC, but no thanks...I've moved on...so should you!

The Mark Green dying episode was the single most gripping, sad moment of TV that I have ever seen in my life. Anthony Edwards was fantastic! He didn't over act, he was just perfect. I couldn't watch ER again after that. Maybe I'll give it a try again this season.
