Not so fast. A close friend is speaking out for the actor, insisting that Duchovny actually has an addiction to Internet pornography, Fox News reports.
According to reports, Duchovny's problem has been longstanding. His wife, Tea Leoni, was aware of it for some time. It had just reached a point where it had to be treated.
Last Thursday, his lawyer, Stanton Stein, released a statement, stating the actor voluntarily admitted himself, adding: "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."
Leoni, meanwhile, has canceled her scheduled appearance at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival, where her film "Ghost Town" is set to premiere, her rep said Monday.
