(Oct. 21) - If you believe the rumors -- which we don't -- then Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley are getting ready to adopt a baby from Korea.
Perez Hilton reports that Life & Style has confirmed the adoption through a friend of the couple.
"They've filled out the paperwork and have been approved and now it's just a matter of waiting. They've been planning this for a long time," the very-reliable anonymous friend told the magazine.
However, nothing is official until the baby photos are sold to the highest-bidder.

We Call BS

Life & Style is reporting that Josh Kelley and Katherine Heigl are planning to adopt a baby from Korea. If it's true, congrats to them. But due to the dubious nature of their source, we're not buying the rumors. What else have we called BS on?

    Jon Kopaloff, FilmMagic

Two girls feuding over an ex-boyfriend is nothing new, but we find it hard to believe that Carrie Underwood is petty enough to call Jessica Simpson "fat," as OK! reported (quoting an anonymous source).

When In Touch reported that Angelina Jolie is most likely suffering from post-partum depression, our BS meters went off the charts. The reason? Vague sourcing and zero details.

In our second Lohan-Ronson BS calling, reports that Lindsay is hankering for a baby caught us as amazingly shady ... hence, the shenanigans.

In August, we called BS on a Page Six report claiming Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were set for a duet. Shortly after, Timberlake denied it. Status: Win

When News of the World claimed Lindsay Lohan and supposed lover Samantha Ronson were set to tie the knot, we easily called BS. We'll wait til they admit they're a couple before buying any nuptial rumors. Status: Pending

    Tom Briglia, FilmMagic

In a double-dose of calling BS, OK! and Star hit us in the same week with some terribly unbelievable Aniston rumors. A week later, Jen and John Mayer split. Status: Win

    OK! / Star

When a "pal" of Carrie Underwood supposedly told OK! that Jessica Simpson looks "fatter" in her latest PEOPLE cover than the last, we called BS. Status: Awaiting denial

You people are ridiculous. There are tons of people willing to adopt American children. I don't understand the issue with adopting from another country. A deserving child is getting a loving home, so who cares where it was born. Are you all just racists? American born babies are better than all of the other unfortunate children born into this world?

Have any of you ever tried to adopt an American Baby??? They all get adopted, there are waiting to be born, not sitting in an orphanage without a family. The older children are and most with problems that celebrities do not have enough time to attend to with their schedules. It is a good thing they don't take on more than they can handle at the child's expense! These countries that they adopt from have babies already born, needing love, hugs and kisses, food, clothing , a home. I applaud the celebrities for this. It doesn't matter what country they come from, all children need to be loved. And they will all be Americans! I am not a big fan of Brad and Angelina..but they are doing a tremendous amount of good around our country also! Just look at all they have done for New Orleans! I have to laugh, you think they started a trend?, adoption? All these blogs are full of ignorant biggots who spout out things they know nothing about. Do the research before you type.

If you never adopted then ,you would not know what you go though to adopt a baby from America.Besides the fact that the parents can decide to take the baby back within 6 months.

It's very commendable that people with lots of resources would adopt a child from another country. However, I've always believed that charity begins at home, and would therefore find it even MORE commendable to see the children right here in the US get adopted. With the advent of Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's efforts in this area, adopting outside the US by celebrities is now beginning to look "trendy" rather than as an act of goodwill. While I certainly support helping those less fortunate than we, there are plenty of less-fortunate right here at home. Could someone please help these dense, self-aggrandizing celebrities see that? Right now, everyone who followed Angelina and Brad just look like copycats and their reasons for doing so look extremely questionable and shallow.

If people really want to adopt from their hearts, then they will be willing to go through the expense and trouble of an American adoption. Just like children wanting a toy, they want it now, and do not want to wait! Good thing there are no American children waiting to be adopted, or one would think seeing all these people going out of their own country to adopt, instead of "taking care of their own"! When I fostered my niece, I notices a lot of African-American children needing homes, why can't some of these couple adopt them, it is ok to adopt Chinese, Vietnamese, and the like, but not any child of any color here?

There is a lot of BS people have to go through to even be eligible to adopt an american baby and there are alot of women who have babies and give them up for adoption as a career. With an out of country adoption things are alot easier.2nd thing - Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood are both beautiful adn I don't think either one really cares about the other. What is the point in reporting anything about their fued. I am big a big fan of them both.

It is extremely expensive (thanks to lawyer fees, home studies and ridiculously expensive prenatal care) to adopt in the US and there are no laws protecting prospective parents from "mothers" who change their minds at the last minute, after the couple has paid thousands of dollars and have had their hearts broken. THAT is why international adoption is so appealing. The kids are free for adoption, nobody wants them and no crazy birth mothers come chasing after them. And a lot of kids in foster care have HUGE issues. Why should infertile couples have to clean up the mess for these "parents' who ruined their kids??? That is a noble OPTION but should not be the only one. Foster kids and troubled abandoned babies are best cared for by seasoned, experienced parents of older children. Not new parents.

I have to say that I'm presently surprised to hear all the comments about all of the "American " children that are in Foster homes just waiting to be adopted... These friggin people that go to other countries to adopt children are a disgrace to this country!!! Take care of your own.
