(Oct. 10) - Nicole Richie, who admits she didn't even know how to cook in 2005, says motherhood ignited her culinary skills, PEOPLE reports. Cooking for her 9-month old daughter, Richie believes her homemade baby food 'tastes better' because it is 'made with motherly love.'
Richie purees steamed vegetables and mashes up everything from apples to green beans and bananas for Harlow Winter Kate Madden.
She and boyfriend, Joel Madden, want their daughter to be healthy and discuss everything they feed her. "We talk about it all the time. It's an energy thing. I know exactly what's going into [Harlow's] body."
Richie gushes about Harlow's first food experience, as any mother would. "Her first food was sweet potatoes and she loved it. She ate the whole thing and it was all over the place – in her hair, on her nose, everywhere!"
Both parents share responsibility with feeding their daughter, but add she's growing up quickly and wanting to eat on her own.
"She likes to do it on her own," Madden says with a smile.

I think Nicole Ritchie has really done wonders for herself. Harlow and Joel have done wonders for her. Seriously. Stop beating a dead horse. I really believe that she has evolved into a decent human being, grew up, and is being a good role model how you CAN go from bad to good. I give her Kudos.

APOCALYPZ187 06:26 PMOct 10 2008 Rich people cook? Really, when did hell freeze over I wasn't paying attention............................................................... ................................................I'm sure they know that rich folks cook, but I don't think this was their main focus here! I believe the focus was on the way Nicole is evolving. We always hear so many negative things about Nicole (Partying, drinking, bulemia, behaving dumb on "The Simple life"...etc), I think "AOL" wanted to show us a different side of her...a motherly side.

When I first became a mom, I was so in love with my little girl that I wanted to do evrything right by her. She was able to bring out the best of me ...including the desire to cook more and eat healthier! I am glad that Nicole is looking at food in a different way. I remembered hearing about her eating disorders. The fact that she is preparing her duaghter's meals in a healthy way will hopefully change the way she eats too. I am happy for her, she sounds like she is taking the steps to be a good mom!

I am sure that NICOLE RICHIE is able to learn to cook. I am sure Daddy Lionel has a ccok or housekeeper than can show her or perhaps she took lessons. I don;t know multi-millionaires, but I do know quite a few people who have a couple of million and others darn close to it and YES they all cook!!! Since when is it a crime to cook because you have money? They have the option of going out to eat more than the average person, but not everyone is beyond learning how to cook. I guess saying Rich people not cooking is like saying poor people live in shacks. I may not have wealth, but I certainly don't live in a shack either. That is just blatant and outright sterotyping whihc is wrong.
