(Jan. 12) - Elisabeth Hasselbeck finally scored some face time with President Bush during his final days in the Oval Office, a month after White House holiday party planners forgot to send the 'View' co-host an invite to the annual Christmas party.

The outspoken Republican showed off some snapshots from her 15-minute visit, and revealed that her 14-month old son, Taylor, took a particular shine to the commander-in-chief. "Taylor shows his affection by head-butting people, so he also engaged in that with the President" she said. "He clocked the President in the head."
"It was eye-opening for someone who has even supported him to be in his presence and be able to comfortably talk with him," she said. "He is so not the caricature that we have been fed for so long. He is a good man, and I hope that people at least give credit where credit is due as he exits and this transition happens."
Hasselbeck, who was also with husband Tim and daughter Grace, said her visit "felt historic and comfortable in the same moment."
'View' co-host Sherri Shepherd was also in Washington, but didn't fare as well as Hasselbeck. "I didn't get cleared to get in the White House," she deadpanned. "Well, I'm not surprised," Joy Behar joked.
Viewers will have to wait until the Jan. 19 episode of the show to find out what happened to Shepherd.
Hasselbeck created a stir on Dec. 17 when she complained of not getting an invite to the White House Christmas party, but the administration responded by saying she was invited but that it was "simply an oversight."

This has happened three times in a row just now and happens most of the time when I try to rate posts which are critical of Bush. Coincidence or is AOL executive Mary Cheney doing what she can to look out for "Uncle George"?________________________________________________________________ I have the same problem...for the opposite type of rating...so...guess you are wrong....wow...imagine that...

George Bush and Elizabeth together!!!! Two of the most brilliant of our time. History will be kind to them, but I fear for the future of our country. Dems in control will only "turn the other cheek" and give anything to our attackers.

It is a pleasure to see one pretty lady on the view. Such ugly hags the others are, and what hen cackles. Elizabeth should be paid more for keeping people watching.

Terribly bad manners to go on TV and complain about not being invited to any party-cheap. Does she think she was invited later for any other reason than she is on TV? Really tacky move by both parties.

I cant stand to hear her voice even. No,, im not jealous of elizebeth, I just cant stand a woman that has a loud mouth. And boy, she has one. As far as her white house experience, it was only because she wasnt invited when everyone else was. Im sure there was a good reason. And a childs way of making friends, is not head butting. Thats due to lack of parenting. She probably laughs every time he does it, so the child dont know its wrong to do.

The kid had the right idea. "Clocking" Bush would have been funny but based on Bush's actions over the past 8 years I'd say he had been "clocked" a lot in his past. Maybe all the cocaine and alcohol is why he's such a waste of human flesh now...
