(Jan. 8) - Actor Willie Aames admits he finally hit rock bottom last year when his wife of 22 years filed for divorce after he had declared bankruptcy. Falling into depression, he began abusing drugs and alcohol and eventually tried to commit suicide. "It got so bad, I put a knife to my throat and cut myself in six places," he said. Now Aames is opening up to Star about his wild year and how he's getting his life back on track.
Known for his roles as Tommy Bradford on 'Eight is Enough' and Buddy Lembeck on 'Charles in Charge,' Aames said his world began to fall apart last year. One month after Aames declared bankruptcy and had his car repossessed, his wife Maylo Upton left him. Aames admits he had no where to turn, so he left their home in Kansas and moved to Los Angeles, where he rented a room from a friend.
Shortly after, Aames started drinking to forget about his problems. "I stole a bottle of Jack Daniel's from the guy I was renting the room from," he said. "I'd been sober for 20 years when I took that first drink."
He began mixing the alcohol with his antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills, which made for a very bad combination.
"The police came, put me in handcuffs and whisked me away. I was completely devastated... I kept asking, 'What did I do wrong?'"

Let's get real. We all struggle with problems in our lives, and none of us are perfect. The only answer in this terribly messed up world is God!! He is the only one that can fix us and make us new creations, from the inside out!!! We just need to remember who we are in God's eyes, loved and cherished, just the way we are.

He is not a celebrity. That word and the word star are now attached to anybody who has appeared on a TV screen for more than 10 minutes. This is about as pathetic as AOL's piss poor reporting and writing. What did he do in Kansas? DId he work there or have his own business? How did he lose his financial footing? Did he alienate his family, and is that the reason he did not have anyone to turn to?

The reason the celebs are out on this is called "Damage control". Google scientology and celebrities to find the niche they have in this. If you want to find out what they have to say regarding God (this is for those of you who think they don't believe in God) then google OT VIII part 2. You want to find out how they treat others in the church google: the unfunny truth about scientology. All you out there who have family and friends who have seizures and medical problems, this is not about that. I had a friend who worked at the Delphi school in clearwater fl and she told me how jett went there but they got rid of him because he was a terrible student and unruley. The group that the travoltas are in are a covert group and this is right up there when they were doing damage control when they caused the death of Lisa Macphearson. I got into sea org the person who was one of the people who saw Lisa Macphearson when she was being murdered in the Fort Harrison. Afterwards they routed this ...

Why do these celebrities HAVE to be role models for our kids? Why can't they just be celebrities or sports athletes or whatever? How many of them asked to be role models anyway? Why does EVERYTHING have to revolve around children? This is the REAL WORLD; not everything is going to be appropriate for everyone. And let parents and children choose whichever people are appropriate role models for them instead of making EVERYONE a role model.

Keep your head up. I've been there and done that.I lost everything. Filed for bankruptcy, got divorced, drank, and doped up. You can get over this hill. I did with no help from no one but myself. It takes a strong person to pull themselves up out of the bottom of a endless pit but you can do it. You've done it before.
